Smalls at Art Interiors, I'm on Twitter

Part of my weekend was spent working on getting the hang of Twitter, and on-line networking in general. Those of you that follow this blog know that I can be a bit of a techno phobe at times, so I was really quite thrilled when I realized that it's not as hard as I thought at first. I'm really not "that old" but I must admit for the most part, I'd rather be coming up with new paintings and mixed media work as opposed to spending my time at the computer. But that's just me.

I was at Art Interiors last week to drop off new smalls. My favorite "mini birches". They're just so "spring-y" I love them. And a few in my "Birds on Wires" series. I believe they will be available on Art Interiors online store as well as in the gallery. Check them out-they're so affordable.

Spring Fever

"Birds of a Feather" 8x16 Acrylic Canvas SOLD

This is a new painting that I finished last week. It's available at Arts on King in Toronto.

I've been feeling a little scatter brained the past few days. Usually I'm very organized and can handle many projects at once. There's just been so much on my plate lately and I think I have a touch of spring fever. The studio windows are wide open as I'm finishing up on a commission today. It's really quite damp and foggy so it's taking a little longer for the acrylic to dry. Time to get out the hair dryer. I'll also get started preparing some larger canvases. My application for the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition was dropped into the post box this morning. It's out of my hands now and up to the universe (and the jury!). All good vibes and wishes for me to get into this show are greatly appreciated.

Some of you have been taking advantage of the sale I have going on in my Etsy shop right now. Thanks very much! Every piece of original art is 50% off. You can check it out here. Well, back to work. There's much to get done.

Time to Fly

In keeping with my bird series may I present "Time to Fly". This is a painting in acrylic on a 6x6 canvas. It will be available along with the other smalls in the series (along with my mini Birches and Roads at Art Interiors. The 15th annual Festival of Smalls begins November 15th. here.

"Time to Fly" is exactly how I feel this morning. History was made last night and I'm very happy for the U.S. and for the world. It's a new day and its time to fly!!!! Work is breezy and easy this morning and I've been buzzing in the studio since dawn. I've really been concentrating on my mixed media paintings these past few days. Papers of all sizes and colors are spilling out into our living area and our dining room table can't be seen anymore from the stacks of papers, photocopies, books and ephemera strewn about. The floor is covered with papers and canvases in different stages of drying. Oh happy chaos. As I work on so many pieces at the same time it's all in disarray at the moment but they're coming together nicely and I hope to show you some new mixed media work very soon. I'm hoping to post a sneak peak here by Friday.
