Spotted One of My Paintings on Steven and Chris Today

I just happened to have the Steven and Chris show on today while I was painting. I was pleasantly surprised when design expert Maia Roffey presented a segment on Scandinavian design.

Right there above the bed hung my painting 'Taupe Forest' 24x48 acrylic on canvas. Available at Art Interiors. I took these pics right off the TV screen.

It's always such a thrill for me to spot one of my paintings in a magazine spread or on television. Especially nice to see it on Steven and Chris as I'm a bit of a fan and have been to a couple of their tapings.

An Afternoon with Steven and Chris.

Sherry and I went to see a taping of the Steven and Chris show yesterday. This was my second time and it was so much fun. Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman and their guests offer up information and advice on decor, health, fashion, relationships, etc. in a style all of their own. It's a high energy, fun and informative, definitely Canadian show on CBC.

Steven and Chris also like to give back to the community and support Womenaide. This November and December Steven and Chris collected donations at their studio tapings for Womenaide, the Toronto based non profit that collects and donates goods-in-kind to women's abuse shelters. Their goal of 3000 donations was greatly surpassed thanks to the generosity of their fans.

In between takes Steven and Chris allowed members of the studio audience to join them for photos. If I had a few more minutes with them, I'd tell Steven that I've been a fan ever since I first saw him on Cityline and he's inspired my love of DIY and the numerous craft projects I've done over the years. I'd tell Chris that I absolutely love his sense of style and would love to go shopping with him. Thanks Steven and Chris for a great afternoon. You are both so kind and giving to your audience.

Yay For Fridays!

TGIF! Yay it's Friday! I don't know why but Friday has such a good vibe for me. It's the end of a very productive week so I guess that's why I'm feeling so good. Check out my friend Gabriela Delworth's blog today. I just happened to have an extra ticket to a taping of the Steven & Chris show last week and Gabriela joined me. We had a great time and yes, Steven and Chris are just as cute (if not cuter) in person. Gabriela has some great photos of our adventure.

New cityscapes are on their way to Koyman Gallery in Ottawa. As you can see from "Taxi!!" above, I'm still really into neutrals and moodiness in my cityscapes these days. Especially now that the weather has cooled, we've had some amazing gray clouds and sunsets on our balcony. I'll be out with my camera after dark for the coming weeks to satisfy my urge for bright lights and neon (hhmmm, must be left over from the Vegas getaway lol!)
