Grab a Taxi.

Grab a Taxi
15x30  acrylic on gallery canvas
$800.

Today I wanted to share with you one of my most recent cityscapes. I finished a few new paintings in this series a couple of days before we were off to New York. These new works are heading out to a gallery soon and I'll be sure to post pics of them all with links as soon as delivery is confirmed. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need more info please feel free to drop me an email. I'm email friendly.

New York was a blast as usual. We were in NYC for a quick drive through last summer on our way to a wedding in Long Island. And then there was this trip a few years back when we stayed at The Plaza Hotel

Oh New York!! There is soooo much inspiration in every inch of that city. We stayed at a small boutique hotel just off 5th Avenue and 56th Street. Chambers Hotel. It had excellent 'walkability' , a second floor mezzanine art gallery and library, and a Momofuku Milk Bar in the lobby. That was dangerous but oh so yummy. We also did alot of driving and visited different parts of the city. Of course I took a ton of photos so there will be future posts. Stay tuned.

Birthday in Vegas

Spent a few days in Vegas last week celebrating my birthday. Had a fabulous time as always, Vegas never disappoints. As usual after a trip I'm full of inspiration and ready to hit the canvas.

Wanderlust.

Wanderlust {wan-der-luhst} noun. A strong innate, desire to roam or travel about. Origin 1850-55: German, equivalent to wander(n) to wander + lust desire.

I've been hit with a serious case of wanderlust. Due to the fact that various friends and family have gone off on trips (European vacations) or just returned from yet another business trip or a weekend away. And then there's Instagram and facebook where I've been swooning over destination photos every spare moment I get.

It's been very hard for me to stay focused and spend the hours in my studio. Let's face it being an artist can be a quiet, lonely existence. At least for those of us that do not share studios with other artists. Don't get me wrong, I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to work from home (in my tiny little corner studio) and nothing beats my 60 second commute to work, but honestly, some days it can feel like solitary confinement.

Music or the television for background noise usually helps and I do try to get out daily for a coffee or a walk around the neighborhood, but the walks have been neglected lately because of cold rainy weather (listen up May! You better bring warmth and sunshine!) and there's just too much painting that needs to get done. It's definitely time to plan a little getaway and feed this wanderlust that I'm experiencing.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends in the U.S. Today I'm remembering the fabulous Thanksgiving we spent in Vegas last year. It was extra busy and even more gorgeous all decorated for the holidays. So grateful to have experienced it and looking forward to going back soon.

Las Vegas At Night.

Enjoyed a few days in Las Vegas last week. It's always fun to drive the strip at night. Love those bright lights. Here are a few of my favorite shots.

New York New York.

We attended a family wedding on Long Island NY a couple of weeks ago. As this was the first stop on our week's vacation (a road trip) we arrived in NYC about 9 am with only a few hours before we had to head out to the Hauppage NY. What do you do with three hours in New York City?

We toured around and took photos. Enjoying the coolness of the morning. You could tell that the day would grow hot and steamy. New Yorkers were already out and about. Jogging, walking dogs, but the city was still relatively quiet. We then enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Barney Greengrass before we continued on our way.
